TREATMENT OPTION: S.C.I.T.

SCIT (subcutaneous immunotherapy) are allergy shots administered on a weekly basis in a Doctor’s office.
After each injection the patient must remain in the office for 30 minutes to monitor for any signs of an allergic reaction to the injection.
Initial phase of immunotherapy - the gradual administration of increasing amounts of allergen is given to which the patient is sensitive.
Increasing doses of allergens are administered until the patient reaches the maximum concentration at which the patient tolerates the injections without an adverse reaction.
The first phase of allergy immunotherapy with allergy shots typically takes 6-8 months.
Maintenance phase patients are continued on weekly allergy injections.
Typical treatment period is 3-5 years and the frequency of injections may be gradually decreased.

TREATMENT OPTION: S.L.I.T.

SLIT (Sublingual immunotherapy) Sublingual immunotherapy is administered by putting drops or tablets of allergen extracts under the tongue of a patient with allergies and then swallowing the extracts.
Drops are painless and safe for patients of all ages, from children to seniors.
A major benefit is that the patient can usually take the treatment at home - avoiding unnecessary trips to the doctor's office.
Considered to be a more patient-friendlier formulation than subcutanous immunotherapy.
Proven efficacy with a better safety profile.
Immunotherapy is the only treatment that brings allergic individual close to cure and long term relief. Everything else is a temporary solution.
Most patients feel relief in just a few months of starting treatment. Allergies usually go into remission within a few year using this treatment.
